In Spain, workshops of Local Activities II were implemented at the headquarters of Iniciativa Internacional Joven association. One of the workshops, Throw and Recycle, was implemented on December 17th, in the framework of our weekly activity “English Conversations”.
Whilst practicing their English, participants understood the importance of recycling and how we can re-use rubbish and create a special gift or decoration for Christmas time. The workshop “Art in Collectivity” was also put into practice. The objectives of both workshops were totally accomplished, although some parts were adapted to the peculiarities of the situation. Participants improved their creativity, self-awareness and critical thinking.
The intervention of the project was carried out in a public school of Málaga city where urban art and breaking have were used as tools for promoting active youth participation, inclusion and social transformation, underlying the importance of discovering own talents and identities.
